Designed around your home

A conversion should solve the right problem.

When a combi may suit your home

A combi heats water on demand, so there’s no separate cylinder. It can work well where the incoming mains flow is good and hot water use is modest, and it frees up the space a cylinder and tanks once took.

When keeping a cylinder may be better

If several showers run at once, hot water demand is high or the incoming supply is limited, stored hot water is often the better answer. A bigger combi can’t fix a restricted water supply, so we’ll compare a system or regular replacement with you before you decide.

From first enquiry to handover

  1. 01

    Tell us what you have

Share your boiler type, cylinder and tanks, postcode and what you’d like to improve. Our boiler installation enquiry form is a simple way to share your system details.

  2. 02

    Survey and compare

We review your water supply, hot water demand, heating condition and installation routes, and weigh a conversion against keeping a cylinder. Together we agree the model, controls, removals and any extra work.

  3. 03

    Agree, install and hand over

The full scope, final quotation, access and expected disruption are agreed before work starts. After installation we commission the system, walk you through the controls and confirm warranty registration and servicing terms.

We’ll check whether a conversion suits your home before providing a personalised quotation. Sending your details does not book an appointment.

Pressure and flow are different checks

Static water pressure isn’t the same as the flow available while taps and showers are running. Our survey looks at the incoming supply, existing restrictions and the water your household needs at busy times, not just a single pressure reading.

A combi’s hot water output depends on the model, the incoming water temperature and demand. We’ll check your existing showers and fittings for compatibility, so you know what to expect before anything changes.

Cylinder, tanks, pipework and controls

A regular system usually has a hot water cylinder and loft tanks; a system boiler normally has a cylinder but a different tank arrangement. We identify what each tank actually serves before anything is removed, isolated or disposed of.

We’ll agree the hot water connections, radiator circuit changes, system cleaning and any filter, controls or protection needed. Existing pipework is checked for the new system pressure, and access, cupboard finishes and making good are set out clearly in your quote.

Gas, flue and condensate routes

Gas pipe sizing and pressure loss are assessed for the appliance and the whole gas installation. A photo or a visible pipe diameter can’t prove suitability, so any upgrade is included in the agreed work.

Boiler position, the manufacturer-approved flue configuration, terminal clearances, roof access where relevant and a suitable condensate drain all affect the job. Any additional work needed to move the boiler is set out in your personalised quotation.

What to tell us

Your existing boiler type, cylinder and tank arrangement, how many bathrooms are used at once, any water-flow concerns and your postcode. Send your details and postcode and we’ll arrange the right visit.

Common questions

Can a regular or system boiler be converted to a combi?

Often, yes, but not every home is suitable. We assess incoming mains flow and pressure, simultaneous hot water use, pipework condition, controls and the gas, flue and condensate routes before recommending anything.

Will a combi improve my water pressure?

Not necessarily. A combi relies on the incoming water supply, so it can’t guarantee stronger showers or overcome restricted mains flow. We check the supply and outlets under realistic demand.

Will you remove the old cylinder and loft tanks?

Only equipment that’s confirmed redundant and included in the agreed work. We identify what each tank supplies, then set out isolation, removal, disposal, access and any making good in your quotation.

Is a combi suitable for two bathrooms?

Bathroom count alone doesn’t decide it. What matters is whether showers and taps run together, the flow they need and the incoming supply. For higher simultaneous demand, stored hot water is often the better option.

How long does a conversion take, and will I lose heating or hot water?

A conversion involves a planned interruption to heating and hot water. How long depends on your system, access, removals and pipework changes; we agree the expected disruption and schedule with you after the survey.

How do I get a quotation for a combi conversion?

Send us your installation details using our short enquiry form. We’ll review your existing system and contact you about a personalised, no-obligation quotation. A survey checks water supply, gas sizing, flue routes and any extra work before the quotation is agreed.

What warranty will the new boiler have?

The manufacturer warranty depends on the model and its terms. We set out the duration, registration requirements, servicing conditions and exclusions with your final quotation.
