Example paperwork

Your installation record.

Every JJP boiler installation comes with our own installation report: the checks completed, photographs of the work and the engineer's sign-off. This sample shows the layout with fictitious details. It is JJP's own record, not the manufacturer's Benchmark certificate.

Every document above is a sample with fictitious details, shown so you know what to expect. None of them is a valid certificate, a completed inspection or a record for any real property.

Combi, system or regular: choosing the right replacement

A combi boiler heats water on demand with no separate cylinder. It can suit homes where space is tight, but the incoming water supply and how many showers run at once matter as much as the number of bedrooms.

A system boiler works with a hot water cylinder, which suits households with several bathrooms. A regular boiler works with a cylinder and feed tanks. Keeping your existing system type can reduce alterations; a conversion needs a fuller look at pipework, water pressure and space.

Replacement, relocation and conversions

A like-for-like swap and moving the boiler to a new position are different jobs. Flue routing, condensate drainage, gas pipe sizing, controls and access all need checking before the final work is agreed.

For a conversion, we’ll talk through removing or keeping the cylinder and tanks, hot water performance, radiator condition and any pipework changes. A new heating system should be designed around your rooms and your household, not chosen on boiler output alone.

What your installation quote should set out

The proposed boiler model, the work included, controls, system cleaning, any recommended filter and the arrangements for removing old equipment. Timing and disruption are agreed after the survey, not guessed from a website.

Manufacturer warranty length varies by model and terms. Check the registration and servicing requirements and what the warranty actually covers before choosing; a warranty isn’t a promise that every future repair is free.

Common questions

Is a combi always the best replacement?

No. Incoming water flow, simultaneous hot water use, available space and your current system all matter. A system or regular boiler may be the better fit for your household.

Can you advise on a boiler conversion?

Yes. Share the existing boiler, cylinder arrangement and what you’d like to achieve. Pipework, supply, controls and the removal or retention of equipment all need assessing before a quote is agreed.

How long does a boiler installation take?

It depends on the replacement, access and any system changes. We’ll give you a realistic idea of the duration once the work and quote are agreed.

What warranty comes with a new boiler?

The manufacturer warranty depends on the boiler model and its terms. Ask us to set out the duration, registration requirements and servicing conditions in your quote before you choose.

Can you install LPG boilers?

Yes. We install and service LPG boilers for rural and off-grid properties around Staffordshire and Derbyshire.
